The Mikuest Miku I Can Muster.

Finished May 2023. Made using Clip Studio Paint.

My grandma (who was also an artist, you can see one of her paintings as a tattoo on Yorkie's right arm) used to talk often about the idea of a "muse". I don't know how I feel about the concept on the whole, but I do know if I were to have a muse, it would be Hatsune Miku.

She caused the domino effect that made me interested in art, and I hold her in such reverence. She's such an iconic, important figure. I cry like five times a year, but everytime I choose to watch a Hatsune Miku concert, I get the feeling in my throat like I'm going to bawl my eyes out.

I haven't drawn her much, and it's because I don't feel like I can do haphazard work when I draw her, it has to be done with care and attention. In this piece's case, I ended up using a sort of, hatching? I just used a 1.9px brush for the entire piece. No color fills, no blending, just lines to build form. The fact I had to work to work very intentionally to form everything helped me make this Miku look just how I wanted her to look.

drawn fanart of hatsune miku. she is smiling happily and holding leeks (the vegetable) in both hands, one shes holding up to her mouth semi mimmicking a microphone, while the other she holds by her knees. the piece is drawn without blending or flat colors, instead using small lines to form the piece. similar to stippling, but with lines instead of dots.
